Cloaked in black and of average height, he masks his face.
He served; for 18 years he served. 18 years of errand running and humiliation all to arrive at the point we find Tobi today. Tobi was an indentured servant to a local wizard: Vladimat Cortander. Vladimat had 2 apprentices Tobi and Caladrix. Caladrix was all too content with his position, amazed by the “awe inspiring” power of a magic missile or a shocking grasp day in and day out, and for a time Tobi was as well; he had always been astonished at the concept of the arcane. However, Tobi grew impatient; he knew magic obviously took time to master, but surely training under someone who had failed to progress in so much time was beneath him, and so Tobi devised a plan. He had been saving up for ages for a spellbook of his own, but with his meager wages he had not even come close. Spellbooks are expensive and rare, but poisons are cheap and common. Acquiring a supply of arsenic Tobi began tampering with his masters meals. One day during Vladimat’s training, whilst Caladrix was present Tobi slit Vladimat’s throat with a dagger. Caladrix overwhelmed with sentimentality began to scream and question the situation; he forced the dagger from Tobi’s hand and readied to attack, during that time Tobi reached for a scroll he had been eyeing in days past. Tobi had just successfully cast his first spell, “Memory Lapse.” Caladrix stood confused, his master dead at his feet,a dagger in his hand, and ready to attack his good friend Tobi. Coming to his senses of what had obviously just transpired he left the room in tears to turn himself into the guard. Tobi took time collect his new belongings: a black cloak, a few necessities for travel, and his new spellbook.
